So we have finished a whole year since we relaunched The Spokesdude Podcast. After many challenges, the good and bad memories we made it. After 53 weeks of making friends, we have finally come to the final episode of this year. Who knew that we would finish a year.
What I recall about this year is how I made new friends and how I was connected to people I wouldn’t have met had I not gathered the courage to start a podcast. The Spokesdude is listened to by many people across the world. Some they tell me when we meet on the street that they actually listen to The Spokesdude podcast.
This has been an exciting year of my life. It had challenges. There were bad news and death robbed me of my acquaintances. Nevertheless the Lord my God has been gracious and carrying me through the fires and the storms of this life.
This has been a very busy year for me. A lot has taken plan. What I find more interesting, is that I had been so busy you’d swear there was someone breathing down my neck, while in fact there wasn’t. I have excercised a tremendous measure of discipline, an undertaking I had no idea was possible.
I must admit. Producing and publishing a podcast for 52 weeks was not easy. I could have easily given up but I pressed on, through the help of my friends and brothers.
There are lots of things I wish to achieve next year. Just to name one: It is my greatest wish to have at least one live show, with a live audience at a given venue. Meeting and addressing my listeners in person will be the greatest experience. I wish to bring some business people on to the show and who will encourage upcoming entrepreneurs and help them avoid some of the mistakes which are common among startups and which will cost them a lot of time, energy and money.
As we approach the end of 2019, I have no regrets for chosing to do a podcast and register a business. When my business has grown and the name The Spokesdude has become a household name, I will not forget those who have helped me. I will in one way or another return the favour to them and their families.
Ever wondered how some people have so much knowledge and are able to quote so many people? Well, you came to the right place. I am going to show you four things you can do to increase your knowledge and become a walking encyclopedia.
It is important to read. So much information can be accessed by reading. There is host of things one can find and read in the world. Read blog posts, newspapers, books, the bible, pamphlets, street direction signs, etc.
Sometimes read is not enough. You may need to take some time off the books and observe the world. Watch YouTube videos, documentaries and the news. Sometimes you can learn a lot about people when you happen to be in town. I do it sometimes. Find a safe spot in town and watch people. See how busy they are. Read their facial expressions. You can pick up much about people when you take time and observe them. Watch the insects in the garden. Yes follow that ant trial and learn some wisdom. You may also enjoy watching the cloud movement in the sky
Sometimes, reading and watching may not be enough. Pay attention to your auditory sense. Listen. Listen to podcasts, some radio, people, poetry, reaching, and public lectures. it also pay to admit that there are people who know more than you do. When you realize that, listen to those who know you more than you.
Get out of the house and go meet people and gain perspective. Go and attend seminars, community meeting, social events, and webinars. Find free events and attend them. Learn as much as you can when you can.
Now this is something you don’t hear every day at The Spokesdude Podcast. We are talking about food. There is no question about it. I love food. Food is one of those things that God made for us men… and women of course. Okay, okay and children too. My point is, before men were created, there was food prepared for their arrival. I mean right on the third day, before even the sun was created, there was food.
My word! I never realized this, food actually predates the sun, the moon and the stars. I know the atheists and many evolutionists out there would want to kill me right now. They must be pulling their hair out right now. Literally, they must be gaping for my flesh as we speak. Who doesn’t know that evolutionist think their theory is a fact and they base this on some dead animal bones. Sadly, those bones are not explaining how the earth was formed or arranged except for that it had animals and those animals died.
Today on the 50th episode I am talking mainly about one specific food item that will knock those infections and illnesses down. It works as a natural antibiotic and it hates flu. When consumed, it also protects you from bug bites. This food item is none other than the humble garlic. Listen to this stinky and yet healthy podcast episode to learn more.
From the time we are born until the time we die, we constantly change. Change is part of life. Sometimes change is never what we expect, it often comes as a surprise. Change can sometimes be painful. Depending on the context, whatever form or shape a change introduces itself to us it can work out for good if accepted in a critical yet optimistic fashion.
I am saying that each change should be examined and the effects of it be understood and perhaps be manipulated for the benefit of the body or everyone. This is all governed by the nature and the context of a given change.
I believe that Capitec brought change in the banking sector. In the reality where the poor were bullied by the major banks such as ABSA, Standard Bank, First National Bank and Nedbank with their ridiculous charges, Capitec came in with a system that allowed those who could not afford a bank account to have access to banking facility.
A few months ago I had inquired from Capitec if they have any Business Solutions. The response was quite disappointing but the consultant I spoke to, gave me hope that there is a plan even though at that stage they could say much. Yesterday I twitted Capitec and said to them “bring us Business Banking” and I was given a link that enlightened me. Capitec has been given the go-ahead to purchase 100% of Mercantile Bank. Now Capitec will be able to offer Business Banking and also offer to fund Businesses.
The promise Capitec is giving is that they will offer an affordable business solution. With the excellent service I had received so far from Capitec on my account, I am eager to see what they have to offer in the business sector.
We are approaching that crazy time of the year. People are getting their 13th cheques. Those who were putting their money into stokvels for the whole year are in line to get it back with interest. School teachers are looking forward to their long holidays as the schools will be closed for the year. Black Friday is next week, a lot of people are gearing to take of the specials that will be offered then.
In the midst of all this thieves, robbers, and scammers are getting ready to get busy. They will be pick-pocketing, snatching women’s handbags, confronting and robbing people by threatening them with knives and guns. The scammers will be using the silver tongue to manipulate people’s greed for money and dupe simpletons into handing out their hard-earned money with baseless hopes of getting more money.
While money will be stolen by all means possible, another breed of criminals will have their eyes on careless human beings. They will be stealing children, teenagers and the rich people, with the intention of either releasing them for a ransom or selling them offshore as slaves of all sorts.
What saddens me is the number of teenagers that will be drunk this festive season, especially those who are completing their high school life this year. they run the risk of being raped, kidnapped or even killed.
My advice to all people is to be alert at all times and to avoid places where they might get into trouble. Try walking in groups rather than alone. Always be safe.

I still can’t find a way to describe the horror I experienced when I saw a video of a tornado plowing through a power station and heading towards my home village on Tuesday. I never thought that there could ever be a tornado of that size anywhere in South Africa.
Needless to say, there were many families who were left homeless. Some were injured and sadly, some had to cross the bridge of death and proceeded over to eternity. My mind is overwhelmed by the things I have seen in just under three days.
Yesterday in Pietermaritzburg, at Campsdrift. This idiotic mini bus driver, drives the mini bus with four passengers onto a low lying bridge which was clearly flooded. The Mini bus was taken away by water. By God’s grace the four passengers were able to escape with their lives.
This got me thinking about the fleeting nature of this life. One morning you wake up to this bright and beautiful day, by the time it ends…you are gone. No warning. On the spur of the moment, your soul is required of you.
This is call for each and everyone of us to review our lives. Are we living in light of eternity or we are shortsighted. We are only concerned about the fleeting pleasures of the miserable short life. What are we building? What we have given our lives over to construct, it is of eternal value or it is just a poor pile of rubble?

In most cases (not all the time) the people who die by floods, would die due to ignorance. They build houses on flood planes and put their lives at risk. Here in Pietermaritzburg, the people municipality is useless. It shouldn’t let people build on such dangerous area.

The word podcast is short form for Portable-On-Demand-Broadcast. The whole idea is for the consumer to take the message they want to hear and store it on their device so that they can listen to it whenever they want.
Those who grew up in the days before television (1927) and internet (1983), know that radio ((1901) of which the first station was setup on the 2nd of November 1920) played a vital role upon people’s lives. The radio had very interesting, entertaining, yet equally informative shows that ran on it. They also know that if you missed a particular show, you had lost it forever. There were no reruns.
There came audio cassettes in 1962 and were introduced for the first time to a radio a station in 1963. Later in the years, people were able to tape the music they wanted to here from the radio into an audio cassette. This gave them an ability to listen to the music over and over again. A cassette could only hold very little amount of audio.
As technology advanced, today a radio show can be recorded by a listener from a cellphone. The downside is that a listener have to sit through the live radio show in order to record it.
With the growth and fame of the internet and its accessibility, content producers are now able to record a niched down content and make it available to their listeners. That means a person who is interested in podcasting, will not wait for the radio station to air a discusion on podcasting but they can go online and stream or download a podcast episode that provides the content they are looking for.
That is the whole idea of podcasting. It provides a specific content on regular basis, to a specific group of people. Listeners can access the podcast episode online and there is no such thing as “missing the show” in the world of podcasting. The podcast episodes are always there on the internet and can be accessed when needed and can be downloaded from anywhere in the world.
THE POINT OF THIS EPISODE
The purpose of today’s episode is to appeal to you my dear listeners/readers to give us content ideas. We seek to know from you, what exactly do you wish to hear from The Spokesdude Podcast. You can let us know by asking questions or by telling us directly what you’d like to hear.
I must lay it before you that we are changing the content strategy of The Spokesdude podcast. We seek to engage with our audience in a more precise and useful way. We want to give a definite answer when we are asked about the nature and content of The Spokesdude Podcast. We are trying to avoid being general. Just like our new podcast the Run Yourself Crazee is for the runners and the sporting community, we want to be specific with The Spokesdude Podcast.
The number one idea so far with regards to a specific niche is a career in Podcasting, Business, and Media production. We want to combine these three and address the podcasting community, which can be both in business and classified as media producers.
Judging by your questions and content ideas, which I am hopeful you will send, we may find ourselves launching new podcasts dealing specifically with the subject of “History,” “Mathematics,” ‘Science,” and other fields of study. You will remember that our aim is to establish a podcasting network, where more people can join us and provide content for other groups of people
I wish to engage the youth of South Africa and introduce podcasting to them. I was very challenged when I saw some video clips of some 8 year old kids interviewing each other on a podcast, using Skype as a medium of communication. I feel the need to get our kids to know that there is a whole new world out there. Instead of getting into drugs and premarital sexual activity, why not use available technology to reach out to the world and earn money without waking up only to tremble at the presence of an employer.
I wish to draw as many content providers as possible as I can to The Spokesdude Network and work with them either to develop their social skills or learn new things from them. Refer to Our Vision.
