Today brother Gary Stephen Crous and I went out to preach the gospel on Church street near the Gandhi statue. We handed out hundreds of tracks and declared the gospel of Jesus Christ to the masses who were passing by.
We showed the wrath of the good God against the violators and offenders of His holy law and then revealed the grace of God to those who believe in His Son Jesus Christ (see Romans 6:23). Many people heard the word and some stood round about us to hear what we had to say.
While we were preaching with power and untold boldness, two municipality police came to harass us and ordered us to move. We refused to move and we asked them to give us proof of that we are breaking a law for standing and preaching in the public place. They told us to go to the city hall and get a letter that permit us to stand and preach in public.
They failed to convince us of that we are breaking a law. While Gary was reasoning with them, I carried on preaching and warning people of the coming judgment. One of the officers came to me and said, “I give you 5 minutes to move.” We decided to preach the gospel to as many thirsty and weary souls and disregarded the counsel of the UMsunduzi Municipality police officers. We had to obey the commandment of our Lord and Savior.
We preached another hour after they told us to move in “5 minutes” and we did not hear from them since.
Be encouraged brothers and sisters preach the word of God in season and out of season. Obey the command that our Lord gave us in Mark 16:15-16 and in Matthew 28:19-20. Be not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God to the saving of them that believe.
I was hoping that they would arrest us and lock us up. It would have been an honor to suffer for the sake of my Master!!!
