Living a holy life

Many churches in this age are more focused on making business and on how to improve finances. Many bible teacher are teaching people on how to get blessings from God and to be able to claim the benefits in the Kingdom of God. Some are focused on  making sure that people, especially younger generation, are having fun in the church. There are many methods and belief systems that we see looming in the church today. The main question is, are there any people who are being saved? Are we as the body of Christ convincing enough for people to live a clean life before God?

Peter reminds us to live a  life that identifies us with God.  ” but as He who called you is holy,  you also be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy for I am holy.”” 2 Peter 1:15-16  and Paul also shows us that we should be the “imitators of God as dears children”  Ephesians 5:1 . God’s desire is that we be like Him. The whole point that we were justified by faith was to allow the Holy Spirit of God to dwell in us, since our bodies are His temple (I Corinthians 3:16; 6:19). If God is holy and His Spirit is holy then the place of His abode must be holy.  The fact that we were saved by grace does not condone sin, it does not give us license to sin( Romans 6: 1-3).  Being Holy means to be unique,  and separated for a specific purpose or service.  God has set us apart for His Spirit to dwell in us and that when we have been led by His Spirit we may live a life desired by Him.  Those who are led by the Spirit of God the same are the children of God (Romans 8:14). Living a holy life is all dependent upon being led by the Holy Spirit of God. No one can receive the Holy Spirit unless they have repented and have believed in Jesus Christ the Son of God ( see Acts 2: 38)

God has foreknown us and has predestined us to be conformed into the likeness of  His Son, and thus all the benefit of His Son are ours, if we live the life worthy of the sons of God as it is written, “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh to fulfill its lusts.” Romans 13:14

We need to live the life which Christ would have lived if He were living amongst us today. As Christ Jesus died in our place so should we live in His place, for Him and through Him by the power of the Spirit that raised Him from the dead.

Let us seek to be Holy as often as possible as we can be in the sight of God since we have by grace and faith been saved and justified respectively.
